Former pupils of Girls' and Boys' High Schools met to mark 40 years since the closure of the two grammar schools in 1973.

The event was held at the Rugby Club on Saturday, August 17th, 2013

SGHS Old Girls' Association President Pam Elliott gave a short speech of welcome before everyone enjoyed a tasty buffet.

21 'old girls' and 7 'old boys' plus their guests enjoyed an informal evening at Scarborough Rugby Club, Silver Royd, Scalby.

Those attending represented a spread of years from 1938 to 1973.  A larger number of people had been hoped for, but although information

about the event was as widely distributed as possible, we were let down by the Sarborough News,

who first 'lost' the material, then missed out a vital section when they first printed it, failing to mention that the event included the 'old boys'!
